Event Highlights

One of the key highlights was Bira's own Trend Talk, titled "Local Heroes: the Art of Selling Homegrown Products." Moderated by Bira CEO Andrew Goodacre, the panel explored the importance of supporting local suppliers, building robust networks, and navigating the evolving retail landscape. With a renewed focus on community and sustainability, the discussion resonated deeply with attendees, offering valuable insights into this key trend.

In a time of supply chain uncertainties and fluctuating prices, the panel emphasized the advantages of going local. Consumers are increasingly seeking products with local credentials, reflecting a shift towards community-centric purchasing habits. Independent retailers have a unique opportunity to cultivate deeper, more fruitful relationships with local suppliers, fostering reliability and engagement within their communities.

The discussion was led by Bira CEO Andrew Goodacre, whose expert insights were complemented by esteemed industry figures. Sanjay Aggarwal, Co-Founder and Chief Spice Officer of Spice Kitchen, Lara Chant, Founder of Brityard, and Claire Leigh, Owner of Two Ducks Ltd, each brought their unique perspectives and practical strategies to the table. The diverse panel ensured a rich exchange of ideas, leaving attendees with actionable takeaways to navigate the local landscape and harness the benefits of community-driven commerce.
