bira supports wok ‘n’ roll charity cook-off


Food poverty is a major issue in the UK, affecting both businesses as well as hundreds of thousands of individuals and families each day. Jeremy Pang’s School of Wok, an Asian specialist cookery school located in London’s Covent Garden, raised awareness of these two issues and encouraged both discussion and problem solving amongst local businesses, during the school’s very first large-scale cookery event. bira’s National President, Vin Vara donned his apron at the Wok for 1000 event, which took place in London’s Borough Market.

 

Dexam, as a brand partner of School of Wok, were delighted to be able to take guests along to participate in the day.  The Wok ‘n’ Rollers were : Vin Vara – bira National President 16-17, Seamus Geoghegan from delicious! Magazine, Richard Bell & Rob Falconer from Steamer Trading, Gillian O’Hara from the John Lewis Partnership, Dean Hawes from Fenwick Colchester and Anne Blackie from Borough Kitchen. They were accompanied by Bryony Dyer, Roger Morgan-Grenville and Trish Rundle from Dexam.

 

The meals made on the day were delivered across the capital to local food banks.
