New restrictions in north of England including Liverpool announced

Tougher local lockdown restrictions are to be introduced in some parts of the north of England including Liverpool, it was announced today (Thursday, October 1, 2020).

Health Secretary Matt Hancock announced that there would be a ban on different households meeting indoors in places such as pubs in the Liverpool City Region, Warrington, Hartlepool and Middlesbrough from Saturday.

The measures are being taken to curb the rise in the number of coronavirus cases in the areas.

It will now be illegal to mix indoors anywhere but there is also a recommendation not to mix outside, in beer gardens or parks.
