Aboout the session: Professor of Marketing and author of the new book “Navigating the Retail Landscape”, Jonathan will use his expertise and experience to discuss how to achieve success in this new era of retail.
“The retail industry globally is in the earliest stages of profound, and perhaps unprecedented, change which will affect both large and small businesses alike. In this session, I’ll be seeking to provide a practical guide to smaller retailers seeking to weather this ‘perfect storm’. My comments build on a new book, Navigating the New Retail Landscape, recently published by Oxford University Press. In it, I’ll be discussing the structures, skills and capabilities retail enterprises will need if they are to be successful in this new landscape.”
Speaker biography: Jonathan Reynolds is Professor of Retail Marketing and Deputy Dean at the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School. He is also Academic Director of the Oxford Institute of Retail Management and Fellow in Retail Marketing at Green Templeton College, Oxford.
Jonathan has over 30 years of research experience in the areas of electronic commerce and omnichannel retailing, innovation & entrepreneurship in retailing, retail productivity and skills, and the role of place in marketing and retail management – in particular, the consequences for retail development and planning.
