Fraud investigations for rebated fuel use
The Fraud Investigation Service (SI Scotland & NE England Oils) for the HMRC have been carrying out visits to dealers in the Yorkshire area of the country, picking up on the dealers collecting and delivering tractors to and from farms using red diesel and their own staff.
In May of 2010 BAGMA sought clarification on this activity from the HMRC who agreed that the activity was directly related to agricultural use and was not an illegal use of rebated fuel. Click here to read the letter.
BAGMA have asked for the HMRC to reconfirm that this is the case as the current round of visits and their outcomes are at odds with the clarification from the HMRC in 2010.
Dealers can contact Keith Christian, Director of BAGMA, by email at email@example.com for further information.
