What will the future of the high street look like?
SMILEY MOVEMENT CIC, the non-profit arm of the original Smiley® fashion brand is hosting its final Smiley TALK, Future of the High Street for 2019 on Thursday 21st November in London in partnership with the Charity Retail Association.
Following a string of well-attended Smiley TALKS in Brighton, Cambridge and London throughout the year, these free community events gather a cross-section of expert speakers and audiences from different backgrounds to discuss solutions for key societal and environmental issues affecting the UK.
Smiley Movement’s mission is to create #RealSmiles in the world, and by partnering with a number of impactful non-profits in 2019 it hosted its programme of Smiley TALKS covering topics like inclusion, loneliness, transformative education, tackling the stigma around mental health, and promoting a circular economy. Smiley TALKS are designed to inspire optimism, inclusion, sustainability and positive action and align with the UN Goals.
The Smiley TALK on the 21st November will be discussing the Future of the High Street. Robin Osterley, CEO at Charity Retail Association will kick-off the evening with a keynote about his vision for the future town-centre agenda, followed by a young-award winning volunteer Ben Atkin who will share his life-changing journey being a volunteer with Blue Cross.
Speakers Neil Duffy From Retail TRUST, Andrew Goodacre CEO at British Independent Retailers Association (Bira), Lucy Stainton from The Local Data Company and Enedina Columnano Commercial Director at TRAID will form the expert panel and will be analysing trends and sharing insights and strategies for keeping future high streets relevant and valuable to local residents and business.
