New guidance for fashion retailers

The Government has updated its guidance for fashion retailers with regards to returned goods and operating changing rooms.

The Working Safely during Coronavirus Shops and Branches guidance has been updated today (December 3, 2020), lifting certain restrictions for retail businesses.

The new advice says that returned clothes no longer need to be quarantined for 48 hours.

It states: "The guidance that items that have been returned, donated, or brought in for repair should be stored in a container or separate room for 48 hours or cleaned before display has been removed."

However, if changing rooms are being operated, clothes which have been tried on must still be quarantined for 48 hours.
