Mask wearing to remain mandatory in Wales and Scotland

Mask wearing will remain mandatory in most indoor spaces in Wales until at least August, it has been announced.

The guidance from the Welsh Government is different to that in England, where mandatory mask wearing will be scrapped from Monday (July 19, 2021).

However, Welsh First Minister Mark Drakeford said that face coverings will remain a legal requirement indoors in public places, such as on public transport, in shops, pubs, restaurants and when accessing healthcare.

Meanwhile, the Scottish Government has said mandatory face coverings in indoor settings could well be in place until December. It will certainly remain in place after most of the other restrictions are lifted on August 9, 2021. More here
