Non-essential retail to reopen in Wales on April 12

Non-essential retail in Wales will be able to reopen from Monday, April 12, 2021, it has been confirmed.

First Minister Mark Drakeford announced the move at a press conference today (Thursday, April 1), as he confirmed the road map to easing lockdown restrictions.

As in England, non-essential retail and close contact services such as hairdressers in Wales will reopen on April 12, although outdoor hospitality will not return until April 26.

In Scotland non-essential retailers will be closed until April 26, and Northern Ireland are yet to set an offical reopening date.
