Rachel Riley, childrenswear designer to launch new home collection
From making clothes for her own children, bira member Rachel Riley has built a worldwide brand
set to grow with the launch of the new Rachel Riley Home Collection.
Award-winning childrenswear designer and Rachel Riley and Textrade International, one of India’s leading home textile manufacturers and international distributors, have signed a licensing agreement for the Rachel Riley Home Collection.
With two shops in London and growing stockists stretching through the UK, US and Japan, Rachel has embraced retailing and wholesaling with her vintage-inspired romantic designs. When bira magazine sat down with Rachel in February, her samples for the spring-summer 18 collection had been “done and dusted, ready to sell to wholesale customers from May this year”. Rachel herself admitted that she loves to feed her creative process, choosing to also now expand her brand within the homeware industry.
Designed by Rachel, the Home Collection will be showcased at the s/s 18 edition of Bubble London on 16-17 July and will be available to buy from retail in January 2018.
The initial launch will feature a range of products, including bedding for all ages, produced in Textrade’s state-of-the-art facility, which already manufactures a comprehensive offering spanning bedding through to homewares.
Commenting on the agreement, Riley says, “This is such an exciting venture and I am delighted to be collaborating with Textrade. I am particularly pleased to extend the Rachel Riley brand into homeware and look forward to the opportunities that it will bring to the business.”
