A week to make independent retailers strong
‘Love the Home You Live In’ is the tagline for National Home Improvement Week, a new consumer marketing initiative to be held during 12-18 March.
The activities, which have been organised by the British Home Enhancement Trade Association (BHETA), are being supported by bira, which wants members in the home & garden improvement sectors to get involved.
Leading brands like Dulux, Polycell, Hammerite, Cuprinol, Stanley Black & Decker, Solvite, Harris, Unibond, Duracell and Flymo are supporting the initiative.
The campaign is timed to make the most of the run up to the key selling period for home improvement tools and consumables at Easter. The campaign is all about people improving their homes and gardens and all the financial, practical, and emotional benefits this brings. This includes not only keen gardeners and traditional DIY-ers, but also the younger generation, getting into upcycling and craft projects and outdoor living. The campaign is encouraging consumers to post pictures of their projects on social media, as well as hosting competitions and giveaways to get people participating.
