Bira members talk shop on BBC Radio 4's Trading Spaces

Bira member and sustainable toy shop owner Hellen Stirling-Baker was a guest on BBC Radio 4's series Trading Spaces.

The five-part series, hosted by Professor Deborah Sugg Ryan, examined the impact of the Covid pandemic on the high street.

Hellen, who runs Small Stuff UK, in Crookes, Sheffield, featured in the final instalment of the series, broadcast on Friday (February 13, 2021). She spoke about her will to succeed, and the wealth of support she's had from her local community.

Earlier in the week, Bira member Tracy Harvey, of independent department store Harvey's of Halifax, was interviewed by Professor Sugg Ryan for the series.

Other guests included a beauty salon owner in Bangor, Wales, and the proprietor of a family-run independent cinema in Galashiels, Scotland.
