About Gary Fannin

Gary is the Chair and founder of the Wandsworth Bridge Road Association. He set up the association in the summer of 2020 to tackle excessive traffic and congestion on the Wandsworth Bridge Road in South Fulham, a mixed-use residential and local High Street. As a resident living on the road he feels passionately about addressing the serious concerns of climate change and the urgent need to mitigate pollution and congestion caused by unnecessary journeys made in private vehicles. The Wandsworth Bridge Road Association (WBRA) has been successful in campaigning for the road redesign and regeneration of the High Street, winning seed funding from the GLA and full support from the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham. With the council now taking management of the redesigns and implementation of the High Street, significant changes are beginning to emerge to create a thriving, destination High Street where people, not cars, are the priority.

Working with other volunteers in the WBRA Gary has spent countless hours speaking with business owners, researching global studies and data and speaking to experts to better understand what creates a thriving business sector and how to make meaningful changes to reduce congestion and pollution. This information is key in helping businesses understand the benefits of making their built environment more friendly to pedestrians and cyclists. This is the central challenge at the heart of the WBRA.

Gary’s is an actor working in Theatre, Film and TV. He also is the co-owner of Yellow Elephant Designs, creating Branding, Visuals, Marketing and Websites for private clients. This creative background has lent itself well to the community outreach with the WBRA and has helped raise the profile of the Association to help reach a wider audience.
