About Natalie Lindsay
Natalie is an Active Travel and environmental campaigner. Living and raising her family on a main road she has witnessed the growth of congestion and pollution over the last 30 years and suffered the respiratory consequences. Natalie acted as an Air Pollution commissioner for Hammersmith & Fulham Council from 2016 working with the council to recognise the urgent need to address air pollution. In the past 6 years she has developed in-depth knowledge of traffic management theory, induced demand and evaporation and has shared and compared experiences with other cities on the continent. The nature and function of the High Street is evolving faster today than it ever has before and at the same time the necessary changes needed to the urban environment both impacts and enhances this change. The challenge is to work with all stakeholders to explain why the changes are urgently needed, what range of tools are available to a community and most importantly to ensure that this change is seen as an opportunity not a threat.
Natalie has a background in both the public and the private sectors working in consultancy, the Treasury & election campaigning. An entrepreneur she has worked with various start-ups over the years. Natalie is a founder of London Youth Conservatoire, today one of London’s largest non-selective music schools with 400 students and a staff of 40 and for some years she was the school Principal.
As a passionate educator she has used her communication skills to engage and inform communities of the benefits and opportunities associated with the changes we need to make to our urban environment and how these truly are win-win; for individuals, businesses, communities and the planet.
