The end of furlough: What you need to know

The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (furlough) ends on September 30, 2021.

The end of the scheme marks more than 18 months of support to keep people in employment through the coronavirus pandemic.

Over the last month (September) government contributions have been reduced to 60% of an employees wages, capped at £1,875, compared to 80% (up to £2,500) at the start of the scheme. The reduction in contribution started from July 1, 2021, onwards.

Claims for September's wages must be submitted by October 14, 2021, and any amendments must be made by October 28, 2021.
