Are you a passionate member of Bira? If so, becoming a director of BIRA (British Independent Retailers Association) might be the perfect opportunity for you.
Each year, Bira seeks individuals to join its board of directors. With up to 12 member director positions available, there are regular vacancies as existing directors step down. These non-executive roles play a crucial part in supporting the executive directors and contributing to the overall improvement and development of BIRA.
Diversity is highly valued at Bira, and membership from all retail sectors, regardless of size, is encouraged. Whether you own a small independent shop or represent a larger retail establishment, your unique perspective and expertise can contribute to the organization's success.
As a member director, you will have the chance to shape the future of Bira and make a lasting impact on the retail industry. Your insights, ideas, and industry knowledge will be valued and respected by the board and the wider community.
Commitment to the role involves attending six meetings per year, with three of them being in person. These meetings provide a platform for discussion, collaboration, and decision-making. It's an opportunity to engage with fellow directors, exchange experiences, and collectively drive the association's mission forward.
We encourage you to reach out to Andrew Goodacre, the CEO of Bira. You can contact him via email at andrew.goodacre@bira.co.uk. Express your interest and let Andrew know why you believe you would be a valuable addition to the board of directors.
