Bira has joined the Rainy Day Trust’s Mad March Million, a month-long movement challenge encouraging the home improvement sector to collectively complete one million steps.
The campaign, delivered in partnership with Wellbeing People, runs from 1 to 31 March 2026 and invites businesses to move more each day through activities such as walking, running or stretching.
Bira’s team, the Sole Traders, will log activity online alongside other organisations, with medals awarded for consistency and a sector leaderboard adding friendly competition.
Designed to be simple and inclusive, the challenge asks participants to add just 10 minutes of extra movement a day, making it easy to fit around working life, with registrations now closed and the month-long challenge begninning.
Companies could also choose to fundraise alongside taking part, helping the charity support people across the industry who are facing difficult times.

Check out upcoming events for the independent retail sector
At Bira, we promote, attend, and run events and exhibitions that are catered around independent retail business owners. These gatherings are a great chance to meet face-to-face, share ideas, and build lasting connections - helping each other grow, stay inspired, and feel part of a vibrant retail community.
