Bira is a trade association that represents independent retail businesses across the UK. With a mission to help independent retailers thrive in the challenging retail landscape, Bira has been actively involved in various initiatives that promote and support the independent retail sector.

One such initiative is the Mad March Million, an annual fundraising event organized by the Rainy Day Trust, a charity that provides support to those who have worked in the home improvement and enhancement industry. The Mad March Million is a month-long challenge that encourages individuals and organizations to walk, run, cycle or swim a million steps, either alone or as part of a team, to raise funds for the Rainy Day Trust.

Bira staff have signed up to participate in the challenge and raise funds for a good cause and will be sharing progress across social media. The 4 teams will be aiming to complete 1,000,000 steps for the campaign. The Mad March Million is an opportunity for Bira members to not only support a charity that is close to their hearts but also to promote the importance of physical and mental wellbeing among their staff and customers.

Participating in the Mad March Million is easy. Participants can register on the Rainy Day Trust website by clicking here and create a fundraising page to start collecting donations. They can then log their daily steps using a fitness tracker or mobile app, which will automatically update their fundraising page. Participants can also join or create a team to boost their motivation and share the challenge with others.

The Mad March Million is not just about fundraising, but also about promoting the benefits of physical activity and encouraging people to adopt healthier habits. By participating in the challenge, Bira members can demonstrate their commitment to their own wellbeing and inspire others to do the same.

Bira's participation in the Mad March Million is a testament to its dedication to promoting the independent retail sector and supporting charitable causes. By taking part in this challenge, Bira and its membership hope to continue to make a real difference.
