Bira has teamed up with A Good Thing to help businesses avoid landfill with their unwanted business items or old stock and give back to the community.
In a world consumed by consumerism, it's easy to accumulate possessions that we no longer need or use. However, instead of allowing these items to gather dust or end up in landfills, there's a simple yet powerful solution, donate them. Donating unwanted items not only helps declutter our spaces but also creates a positive impact on both individuals and communities.
A Good Thing is a brilliant new way to avoid landfill and give back to your wonderful local community. When it was set up just three years ago, the idea was simple: businesses are generating too much waste, while many charities are in need of more resources. What if the two could be connected?
A Good Thing was set up by husband and wife Richard and Cathy Benwell in 2020, and launched its pilot in 2021 in the Thames Valley area. The results were fantastic, and the team is now excited to have scaled the idea to charities and businesses right across the UK. It’s working with 200 businesses and over 1,000 charities all across the country, and welcoming new members every day.
