Early feedback from the Online Sales Tax survey

We recently asked you about your thoughts on the Online Sales Tax survey

Early analysis of the responses to the survey on the proposed online sales tax shows that most members are in favour of such a tax. This response is in line with the feedback given to Bira over the past few years as members want to see a more ‘level playing field’ between physical store retailers and the online businesses.

Andrew Goodacre said: “We will use the feedback from members in our consultation response. The other key element in our response will be to insist on a sales threshold for online sales (minimum £2M), which would exempt retailers from the OST (if online sales are below this threshold)”.
