Independent retailers are being urged to showcase their Easter offerings as part of the latest Love Your High Street campaign, designed to drive footfall to the high street during one of the year's key seasonal trading periods.
Bira is calling on communities to support their local shops this Easter, as part of its year-long initiative to make shopping local an instinctive choice for consumers.
The Easter campaign is the latest in a series of themed initiatives tied to seasonal occasions throughout 2026, following Valentine's Day and Mother's Day campaigns earlier in the year. The aim is to ensure that when consumers think about gifts or seasonal spending, they instinctively check their local shop first.
Andrew Goodacre, CEO of Bira, said: "Easter is a wonderful opportunity for shoppers to discover the unique products and personal service that independent retailers offer. Our high streets are filled with businesses that bring character and creativity to their communities, but they need our support to thrive.
"We're encouraging retailers to get involved by sharing their Easter promotions, displays and product ideas on social media using #LoveYourHighStreet. This helps increase visibility for local shopping options and reminds communities of the value independent shops bring to the high street.
"By choosing to shop locally this Easter and throughout the year, we can keep our high streets buzzing with life, create a stronger local economy and ensure small businesses continue to flourish."
Bira is providing free marketing assets to help businesses promote their participation in the Easter campaign, including printable materials for use in store and digital graphics for social media and websites. All resources are available here.
The Easter campaign builds towards Love Your High Street Week, taking place from 9th to 15th November 2026, which will celebrate independent retail nationwide and include the annual awards.
