At the recent Bira Annual General Meeting, John Jones was officially named as the new President of Bira. Jones, who serves as a director at his family business, Philip Morris in Hereford, has been a Bira director since 2022.
During his address at the AGM, John Jones paid tribute to his predecessor, Guy Lachlan, for his outstanding leadership during his tenure as President. Jones also acknowledged the contributions of three other directors who stepped down, expressing gratitude for their dedication to the association.
Jones shared his enthusiasm for the role, stating that he looked forward to maintaining the association's growth in recent years and continuing to campaign on behalf of independent retailers across the UK. As the new President, he aims to support and advocate for the challenges and opportunities faced by the independent retail sector in an ever-evolving landscape.
Bira, under John Jones' leadership, is set to continue its vital work in championing the voice of independent retailers, helping them thrive in today’s competitive market.
