Lockdown in England extended until at least March 8

Boris Johnson announced that lockdown measures will remain in place until at least March 8, 2021.

He made the announcement in the House of Commons today (Wednesday, January 27, 2021), which means an extension of restrictions for at least another three weeks.

These measures include the closure of all non-essential retail.

However, he also pledged to provide a road map out of lockdown soon.

In preparation for reopening, Bira is urging all retailers to revsist their safety protocols too avoid further lockdowns and high street closures. Read CEO Andrew Goodacre's open letter to the public here.
