The Security Industry Authority (SIA) is asking businesses and organisations that could be affected by Martyn’s Law to complete a short survey on how prepared they feel for the incoming legislation.
The survey is open until midnight on 20 October and will help the SIA ensure the guidance, support and resources available to businesses are as useful as possible.
Businesses with premises or events that could fall within the scope of the legislation are encouraged to take part, with the survey covering their awareness and readiness ahead of the new requirements.
Martyn’s Law, formally the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, received Royal Assent in April 2025 and is expected to come into force following an implementation period of at least 24 months.
The legislation will introduce new requirements for eligible premises and events to improve preparedness for terrorist attacks, with requirements varying according to the size and capacity of the premises or event.
