Tributes paid to Peter Barbour of Barbour's of Dumfries

We are saddened by the recent death of Peter Barbour after a long battle with cancer. As joint managing director with his brother Colin they ran Barbour’s of Dumfries a large department and separate furniture store.

Michael Hughes, Bira Director, has said: "I first met Peter as a 19-year-old at Bentalls of Kingston in 1980 when we were both training there alongside Nick Brown. The three of us have maintained a close friendship for over 40 years and he will be greatly missed by us all. Peter was one of the good guys"
