Are Your Staff Happy
With extra challenges in our day-to-day lives with the cost-of-living crisis hitting hard, it’s important we think about our employee's mental wellbeing.
Happiness is key when it comes to better trading outcomes, so think about checking in on your staff.
The Retail Trust has produced the Health of Retail Report which shows that 83% of employees have experienced a dip in their mental health over the last 12 months.
In response to these figures, the Trust has put together a brand-new action tool which has been designed to help employees have a better working life and improve their wellbeing.
The short assessment, which can be found via this link, can provide colleagues with a personalised programme of actions to unlock their happy.
Andrew Goodacre, CEO of BIRA said: "This is such a great idea and the happiness test is also free so there isn't a reason to not want to do it! The assessment is a great tool for managers to be able to keep track of the wellbeing of their team, especially if their employees don't feel comfortable in opening up to them."
Some of the key tools include:
- Colleague action plans so each individual has a way to improve their own happiness at work.
- A bi-annual tool to enable you to monitor and improve the health and happiness of your people.
- Your company dashboard where you can see clear actions and insights immediately, recommending steps, measures and processes to improve employee retention and minimise flight risk. Including the option to filter the results by numerous demographics to understand wellbeing issues at a granular level
- Free Happiness Test for Colleagues
The happiness test takes a few minutes to complete and will ask colleagues to reflect on various aspects of their day-to-day working environment, including:
- Reward and recognition
- Information sharing
- Empowerment
- Wellbeing
- Instilling pride
- Job satisfaction.
Once colleagues have completed the test, they’ll receive a happiness score in each topic and their very own personalised programme packed full of brilliant advice, tips, insight and an action plan on what they need to focus on for their work wellbeing and to unlock their happ
