Independent retailers struggling to recruit could benefit from the new Youth Jobs Grant, a government-backed scheme designed to help businesses bring young people into the workforce while reducing hiring costs.
Available to employers across Great Britain, the grant provides £3,000 for each eligible young person recruited, alongside recruitment support from Jobcentre Plus.
Why Retailers Should Take Notice
The scheme could help your business:
- Receive £3,000 towards recruitment and training costs for each eligible hire
- Access pre-screened candidates through Jobcentre Plus
- Fill vacancies with enthusiastic young people looking to start their careers
- Develop future talent while supporting employment in your local community
With around 20,000 opportunities expected to be supported each year, early engagement may help businesses make the most of the scheme.
