The Low Pay Commission (LPC) is taking evidence from businesses and workers based in Scotland on 6th April.

We’re inviting individuals involved in low-paying sectors to give evidence to our Commissioners on the minimum wage and enforcement.

The LPC is an independent body that advises Government on the minimum wage. We’re a social partnership; with members representing workers, employers and independent academics. Each year we consult widely across the UK on the impacts of the National Minimum Wage (NMW).

As well as advising Government on the level of the minimum wage, we look at their record on underpayment and enforcement. We publish annual reports on non-compliance and make recommendations for the Government and enforcement bodies. The Government has accepted the majority of our recent recommendations.

The evidence we hear will inform a report and recommendations that will be published this summer.

All the evidence collected is treated in confidence. All meetings will be held online and questions will be shared with participants in advance of sessions.

If you are interested in providing oral evidence at either one of these meetings then please let us know by emailing interest to andrew.goodacre@bira.co.uk
