Why are we moving to Direct Debit payments?
Direct debit payments is now our preferred way to take payments - it’s simple, easy to use and benefits all of us.
As we now have over 1100 members using the Bira Direct product buying service, we need to ensure we are keeping payments to the agreed terms for all members - which is 30 days end of the month following the invoice date.
We noticed using Direct Debit payments in other areas has also made it easier for our members as it helps with cash flow planning.
How will you benefit from paying by Direct Debit?
There are several advantages to be paying by direct debit:
Set and forget – You set up payment once and after that, it’s taken automatically on the invoice due date. There is no need to set diary reminders or log into your Internet banking to make a payment.
We will never chase you for late payment – Payments are automatic, so you won’t get chased for payments, and there’s no risk of late payment fees, which we are having to build into our terms as interest rates keep rising.
You're still in control and protected – You’ll receive notifications of payment before funds are taken, and under the Direct Debit Guarantee scheme, you’re guaranteed a refund if any payment is taken in error. All invoices in the query will be deducted from the payment.
Better for budgeting – Paying through Direct Debit makes your payment predictable, which can make it easier to budget for your invoices through Bira Direct.
How to get started?
Setting up your Direct Debit payments with Bira is simple and easy.
All you need to do is contact us on 0121 446 6688 or email Bira Credit Control at credit.control@bira.co.uk and we will send you a personalised link to sign up to our Direct Debit mandate electronically. This gives us permission to collect the agreed funds from your bank account at the agreed time, which will be 30 days End of Month following invoice – which is exactly the same as your current terms.
Unlike with cash and cheques, you won’t have to remember to make future payments. As soon as the 30 days end of the month is reached, we’ll collect payment straight from your pre-agreed bank account. You’ll be notified before each payment is taken and your payments are protected.
