About the campaign
Independents' Day UK is a year-round campaign dedicated to supporting and promoting independent retail businesses throughout the UK. Each year, it culminates in a special focus around July 4th, with this year's events extending over the weekend of Saturday, July 6th, and Sunday, July 7th.
Independent retailers make up about 65% of the approximately 290,000 retail outlets in the UK and are central to local communities nationwide.
Small Business Owners
Independent retailers provide a variety of products and services, blending tradition with innovation, and offer a more personalised customer experience. They also create jobs and contribute to both local and national economies. With retail spending under pressure, they need our support now more than ever.
Shoppers
It's well known that shoppers desire diversity on their High Streets, and independent retailers provide the unique character and service that define their towns. Shopping at an independent outlet can make a significant difference.
