Autumn statement survey: Share your thoughts
With rising inflation and ever-increasing costs to businesses across the UK, parts of the Chancellor’s recent Autumn Statement will be very welcome. A planned £13.6 billion package towards freezing business rates will come into effect from April 2023.
This includes an increase in the retail discount from 50% to 75%, along with the multiplier being frozen for twelve months until April 2024. The national living wage will also be increased, rising by 9.7% to £10.42 an hour, benefitting our lowest paid workers in all sectors.
We’d like to hear what these announcements mean to you as an independent retailer.
