Due to the unprecedented and continual challenges in the global supply chain, Bira Direct supplier ABRACS has announced an unavoidable price change on some of their products from 1st February 2023. 

Abracs Ltd are a UK-based company founded in 1989 the company has been supplying the industry for over 30 years and specialises in delivering professional quality abrasives & power tool accessories worldwide. Their York-based HQ maintains a consistent 99% stock availability on their entire product range which comprises of over 2500 SKUs within 18 clear and concise product ranges.

In a letter to their customers and business partners, their Managing Director, Rob Jeffery has said:

Dear Customer,

Firstly, I would like to extend my thanks and appreciation for your ongoing business and support throughout 2022.

As I’m sure you will be aware, the market has faced many challenges this year that have been largely linked to external factors beyond our control. The soaring cost of energy brought about by the conflict in Ukraine has driven production costs of both raw materials and finished goods to unseen levels. The recent collapse in the value of Sterling has also added significant additional pressure to the cost of landed goods.

Despite the pressures we have maintained our pricing structure for the majority of the year which has given our valued customers an unprecedented level of pricing stability. Unfortunately we are now facing further cost increases so are left with little choice but to pass some of these on to the market. As a result, all product cost prices will increase by 8.0% on 1st February 2023 with some specific products needing to increase by more than this. Further details on this will be sent with a new price list and catalogue in January.

We have continued to invest in our stock levels and product range through the year and this will continue into 2023 to ensure that we maintain the high levels of availability that you have come to expect from us. A new online distributor portal is currently in development and provisionally scheduled for launch in Q1 2023. This system will significantly improve the level of service and support that we are able to offer you.

Several new products and ranges are also scheduled for launch in 2023 which will further enhance the comprehensive range of products that we are able to supply.
