Due to ongoing cost pressures, Bira Direct supplier Oracstar has announced an unavoidable price change on some of their products from 1st September 2022.
In a letter to their business partners and customers, they have said:
The ongoing price volatility across our cost base, which we had hoped to see stabilise as we moved through the first half of 2022, has, unfortunately, continued to trend upwards with no signs of weakening for the remainder of this year. It is therefore with disappointment that I must advise you we will be issuing a new price list effective September 1st, 2022.
Much of the reasoning being given to us is linked to global inflationary factors and the consequences of the tragic conflict in Ukraine, which appears to be far more reaching than originally considered. The continued volatility that our industry is managing is extreme and the challenges continue to impact us daily; frustratingly, many are outside of our control.
We are actively assessing how best to manage these increases and their likely impact on our business, whilst considering how to lessen the impact for our customers. Our customers are our priority, and we will work to mitigate and absorb as much of this pressure and volatility as possible – only passing on what is necessary to retain consistency in our pricing and offer.
I would like to thank you sincerely for your historical trading relationship with Oracstar and we look forward to working closely with you in the future as we continue to collectively help Britain improve and enhance their homes.
