Bira took part in a new forum organised by the Welsh Government to decide future strategies for jobs and career development in retail.
Andrew Goodacre, Bira's CEO, attended the first meeting of the Retail Forum this week, which discussed the future of careers in retail, along with some of the other issues affecting the sector such as business rates.
Andrew said: “The fact that Bira has been invited to take part in these important discussions is a further sign of our influence and credibility and the representative of independent retailers.
"It early days for both of this forum but it is good to know that the Welsh Government has the future of retail on its agenda. It is our role to make sure that the voice of the independents is heard, especially as independent retailers have such a good employment record and make a significant contribution to the economy.”
Bira met with Business Minister Paul Scully to discuss issues impacting indies. More here
