Due to the unprecedented and continual challenges in the global supply chain, Bira Direct supplier Burg Wachter (Sterling) has announced an unavoidable price change on some of their products from 1st October 2022.
Burg Wachter (Sterling) Burg-Wachter are a leading International manufacturer of security products. With over a 100years heritage, quality, service and support are at the forefront of what they do, serving a diverse customer base globally. Within the UK, Burg-Wachter also promotes the Sterling brand. Combined, our main product catgories are: Padlocks (Key Suiting available); Door Security; Cylinders (Key Suiting available); Safes; Post Boxes; Security Cables & Bike; Key Cabinets; Smart Home (Alarm & CCTV).
In a letter to their customers, their Managing Director, Andrew Field has said:
Dear Partner,
As a valued customer of Burg-Wächter UK we wish to inform you that there will be a price change implemented from 1st October 2022. Due to continual economic challenges we are sadly forced to increase prices in order to ensure we can provide our customers with the continued level of service and compliance expected.
Economic pressures continue to impact us all and I’m sure you will agree that we find ourselves navigating our way through particularly testing market conditions in these uncertain times, especially given the volatility of the ongoing unrest in Ukraine which is impacting many areas of cost.
Inflation rates are the highest we have seen in over 30 years and coupled with that is the labour shortage experienced by what appears to be across all major industries, inevitably putting undue amounts of pressure on employers to take action and keep pace with the cost of living rises.
Volatile prices have seen our business continue to absorb cost increases again throughout the last 12 months. Cost increases in our local supply chain have also been notable with many UK businesses feeling the same impact which has made it impossible to not pass on a fair portion of these cost increases.
This is not a decision that has been taken lightly and one that has seen us review our cost base from end to end. We believe the decision to invest in our staff to retain talent and support our employees through these very difficult times in our most important decision in order to ensure we can continue to provide our customers with the highest level of service.
