Due to ongoing cost pressures, Bira Direct supplier Horwood Homewares has announced an unavoidable price change on some of their products from 1st July 2022. 

Founded by the Horwood family in 1896, Horwood Homewares Ltd is now part of a multinational group - their distribution has grown to include not only most of the UK and Irish territories but also foreign marketplaces. Having become very well-known for their reliable and timeless cookware, they have expanded their portfolios to include quality items across the categories of bakeware, food prep, eating & drinking as well as kitchen electricals.

In a letter to their business partners and customers, they have said:

The first part of 2022 has continued to deliver unprecedented levels of uncertainty across all aspects of our economy.  Whilst we are enthused by a return to some semblance of normality in our everyday lives post Pandemic, we continue to feel the impacts of a wide range of challenges across the global economy.

Whilst we have experienced a stabilising of shipping costs, albeit at much higher than historical rates, we continue to be beset by significant increases in our costs relating predominantly to raw materials, packaging and fuel.  Whilst we have absorbed much of this cost over recent months, we are now in a position whereby we have to pass some of these increases on, and as such we will be increasing our List and RRP prices with effect on July 1st 2022.

We have not taken this decision lightly but feel it is the most appropriate course of action to take given the current climate.  This action will also enable us to continue to help invest in our products, customer support and logistics, ensuring you are able to take advantage of our growing product portfolio to support your customer needs.
