Mica DIY was proud to hold a really enjoyable ‘Mica Event’ which took place on 13th Sept with over 50 people attending at the Welcombe Hotel & Spa in Warwickshire.
In place of the Mica Exchange (a gathering of both members & suppliers over a weekend), the Event was in the main, more of a social gathering at the request of the membership, with Mica also holding the Mica 2025 AGM during the day.

Bryan Wheatley, National Operations Manager at Mica, said: "We’ve visited some great venues over the years, so it was really pleasing to report that we received so many positive comments from numerous attendees about the venue (and food!) itself.
"During the evening, Mica also held a raffle, kindly supported by a number of prizes from our suppliers and we’re delighted to report that over £500 was raised for our chosen charity, the Rainy Day Trust!"
Mica also announced its Member Award winners on the evening, and in his last task with Mica DIY, departing Business Unit Director Michael Ball joined Bryan in presenting the awards. David Neill Mica Home & DIY received the Promo Excellence Award and Frank Williamson Mica was honoured with the Mica Achiever Award, with Handy Homestore Mica earning the Shining Star Award and Dianne Foster from Mica Head Office recognised with the Co-operative Spirit Award.
Although not presented on the night, members also voted in key supplier categories, with Hilka Tools named Promo Supplier of the Year and Smart Garden winning the Product Innovation Award, while Stax Manchester received the Teamwork Award and Toolbank took home the top honour of Supplier of the Year.
As the supplier Awards weren’t presented on the evening, Bryan is now making arrangements to present the awards to the winners, and last week had the pleasure of visiting Stax Manchester and presenting the award to Nathan Ellis, Manchester Branch Manager, who was absolutely delighted to accept the award on behalf of the whole Manchester Team.
