A campaign focused on helping consumers save money by making better use of the tech installed in their appliances has won at a national awards event for the second year running.
The Know Watt’s What campaign, run by the Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances (AMDEA), picked up a bronze award in the Best Awareness Campaign or Advancement of a Cause category at the Association of Excellence Awards in London.
The campaign not only encourages people to use an appliance’s technology more effectively to save money, but also helps consumers find spares to make appliances last longer. AMDEA’s campaign also focuses on helping individuals develop more eco-conscious habits through better use of domestic appliances.
Judges praised the campaign for its evidence-based strategy, adaptability to changing consumer needs, and measurable impact, while also highlighting the fact it was able to engage public events, provide practical resources, and collaborate with policymakers and retailers.
AMDEA CEO Paul Hide said: “Know Watt’s What is the archetype of a well-designed campaign. It tackles a great issue of our age – sustainability – but in a way which is both truly helpful to appliance users and highly relevant for policy makers and retailers.
“By using imagination, accurate targeting and good execution, it has made its mark and is helping to shift the dial for consumers.”
AMDEA, which is a UK trade association for domestic appliance manufacturers, also won Campaign of the Year for its Know Watt’s What campaign at last year’s Trade Association Awards.
