Responsibly sourced kitchen textiles
Dexam launches Recycled Cotton range in time for Water-Saving Week
Dexam believes it is essential to operate as an ethically and environmentally sound business. In line with this thinking, and as a kitchen textile specialist, they are launching a new textiles range in May using recycled cotton to tie in with Water-Saving Week.
Waterwise’s annual Water Saving Week takes place on 15th-19th May. This year they are focusing on spreading awareness of issues around water such as the increased stress on water resources resulting from climate change and our habits. Dexam’s recycled cotton range uses cotton that has been sourced from offcuts that would have gone to landfill, reducing the water footprint associated with the growing and harvesting of virgin cotton.
The range is available in two colourways featuring a woven striped pattern in an adult apron, gauntlet, double oven gloves and a set of 2 tea towels. All are made from 60% recycled cotton. The double oven gloves and gauntlets also have a 100% recycled polyester lining.
Due to the nature of recycled cotton, there might be a slight variation of colour between items, however, this acts as a lasting reminder to the customer of their conscientious and somewhat one-of-a-kind purchase.

Helen Boardman, Dexam’s Product Manager, said: “We only partner with suppliers who can demonstrate compliance with the Dexam Code of Practice. This requires prospective and existing suppliers to evaluate their performance against the requirements of our code which assess the manufacture of products and the reduction of energy and water during production, use of recyclable packaging and ensuring supply chains are free from modern slavery. Our Recycled Cotton textiles range is a beautiful example of our commitment to act as sustainably as possible within our environment and we hope will raise awareness on the importance of reducing our water and carbon footprint.”
